Abandoned Store operated in Swissvale from 2014-2015 in a former dance studio. AS housed an array of lathe-cutting devices, boutique electronics, an actively broadcasting color TV station, advanced visual arts tools, and a genre-defying multi-stage DIY venue. This was the vision of Eric Rann, AKA Wreck League.
A communications tower climber and technician by trade, his creative work is informed by a post-apocalyptic, intergalactic hacker’s attitude toward obsolete technology. His gritty, unpretentious yet uncompromising practice hearkens to his roots in Tenessee, Indiana with influences from Detroit. Now based primarily in Brooklyn, his current projects include a retrofitted radio transmission tower in an undisclosed location, and the experimental ambient electronic dance/ dub/ analog-worship A/V operation Wreck League. ▲https://thewreckleague.com/▲
