Calliope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting and preserving traditional and contemporary folk music and its allied arts. Founded in 1976, it presents concerts, jam sessions, and operates the Calliope School of Folk Music, offering classes and workshops in traditional instruments and styles. Its mission is to foster community through participatory music and education across the Pittsburgh region.
